A campus a cappella group issued a statement of apology after including a controversial question on an audition questionnaire regarding Monday's knife attack on freshman Michael Knorps.

Singers auditioning for the all-male group, the Buffoons, were asked a multiple choice question about how they felt after Monday's attack against Knorps.

According to the Daily Camera, applicants were given these answers to choose from:

A. Confused
B. Dazed and confused
C. Mad someone got that guy before you did

The group has since changed the question and issued a formal apology, according to group members. CU has decided not to reprimand the Buffoons.

CU Spokesman Bronson Hilliard said the group has held itself accountable for the mistake.

"In further attempts to correct an inconceivable mistake, we have dismissed the member of the group responsible for such comments," wrote Colin Birkhead, senior international affairs major and business manager for the Buffoons, in the formal apology.

Established in 1962, the Buffoon group has been an active part of the CU community. The group performs at various sporting events and hosts the annual charity fundraiser "Acappellooza."

"We Buffoons take pride in our ability to represent both the student body and the administration," Birkhead wrote.

There is no such thing as premier a cappella at CU... Each group seems to fill its own niche, and the bickering and comments are obnoxious.
