The Miss Asian America Colorado event was created this year by Asian Avenue magazine as more than a beauty pageant. The contestants had to possess more than physical attractiveness, they needed to demonstrate intelligence, compassion and the desire to serve.

Hospital billing records for 1.5 million U patients have been recovered, said the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday. The records contained personal information on former patients from the U Hospitals and Clinics, including physician names, driver's license numbers, insurance information and Social Security numbers.

Grad students question child care policy

UNM graduate students with children cannot receive child care subsidies from the state, according to current New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department policy.

Smeltzer graduated with a bachelor's in political science, French, Spanish and European studies in May. He died in June, reportedly from a heart attack.
